India’s Biggest Startup Summit : G20-DIA
2023-09-04India's presidency of the G20 Summit is a source of immense pride. As part of this presidency, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and the MeitY Start-up Hub have organized the G20 Digital Innovation Alliance Summit in Bengaluru at the Bangalore Palace, from August 17th to 19th, 2023. With the focal theme, "Driving Digital Innovation for World Economies," the Summit anticipated substantial participation from delegates representing the G20 countries and 9 guest countries, including startups, policymakers, business leaders, technocrats, young innovators, and investors.
The summit was graced by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt of India, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary – MeitY, Shri. Akash Tripathi, Joint Secretary – MeitY, and Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President - NASSCOM.
The summit was also commenced with a session on “Digital Innovations for Global Growth” addressed by Mr. Darsanand Balgobin, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation – Mauritius and Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industry and Technology – Turkiye.
the startups participated from India and other G-20 nations had an opportunity to pitch their innovations to the global jury and the top 3 startups from each sector were honoured with the awards. Further, two new categories of awards such as best women founder and audience choice have been introduced to promote inclusivity in the global startup ecosystem.
