Instagram brings IGTV app for longer videos
Instagram has recently launched IGTV. It is a new app where users can upload videos longer than a minute. It was revealed at an event by the CEO of the company Kevin Systrom.
The app hosts videos up to one hour and anyone can upload it either from the dedicated app or from Instagram. Everything is mobile-oriented, meaning videos are in a portrait mode.
The app brings some new tools for users who want to make longer videos. First, anyone who doesn’t want to download the app can still watch them from the main Instagram app – promo pics suggest a button at the top of the app will allow them to access IGTV content.
Second, it’s integrated fairly smoothly with other IG features – users will be able to use stickers and filters, as well as share videos via messages. One can even share IGTV videos to a Facebook page and, presumably, profiles.
