In a recently held two day conference on start-ups, IoT and defence technology, ITI has partnered with 58 start-ups and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) covering the manufacturing of a wide range of ICT and IoT-based solutions. Close to 1000 delegates attended various sessions of the conference.
India is moving from the marked 10,000 start-up eco-system to more than 20,000 start-ups, thus becoming the second largest ecosystem for start-ups in the world. These type of events will provide an effective platform for start-ups to convert their innovative ideas into marketable products and services.
“Young India should serve India,” said Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications and Minister of State for Railways in his inaugural address.

ITI Ltd has also entered into an agreement with Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC), New Delhi for establishment of state-of-the-art telecom testing labs at its Bengaluru plant to facilitate mandatory testing of imported and indigenous telecom equipment in India.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Union Telecom and Communications Minister Manoj Sinha and Telecom Secretary & Chairman of the Telecom Commission Aruna Sundararajan on the sidelines of the first edition of ITI's two-day 'ICT & IoT Start-up Tech Expo' in Bengaluru. This will help ITI diversify its manufacturing capabilities in partnership with the start-ups, thereby supporting the sustainable turnaround of ITI.
Union Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said seeing this kind of event and progress at ITI, he could not imagine that the company was in great trouble for a long duration. “ITI is emerging like a ‘Phoenix’ and making a profit in 2017–18 after suffering losses for the last 16 years,” said Sinha.
