In what may be called an emotional announcement, the owners of the jiohotstar.com domain, Jainam and Jivika, revealed that they will be transferring the domain to Reliance’s legal team without any financial exchange, dispelling rumours that suggested a paid transaction. Initially, the domain was purchased to support the aspirations of a young developer, but it soon evolved into a space dedicated to promoting the values of Seva (selfless service) and kindness. Now, the siblings have decided to pass on the domain to Reliance, believing that it could serve a useful purpose for the company.
The owners addressed online speculation about financial dealings in a message posted on the website, stating, "There have been some rumors online suggesting that there is a payment or deal involved, but we want to make it clear—this is not true. This is purely a transfer of the domain from our side because we believe it could be useful for them."
This announcement comes after reports that Reliance’s intellectual property legal team had approached Jainam and Jivika to facilitate the domain transfer. The siblings confirmed that they are awaiting the official draft agreement from Reliance, and the transfer will be finalized once it is signed in Mumbai.
Although the chapter with jiohotstar.com is coming to a close, the domain’s owners have emphasized that their commitment to Seva remains as strong as ever. They have launched a new platform called SevakArmy.com, which aims to connect volunteers for various community service projects. The siblings are dedicated to fostering a culture of kindness and service, inviting supporters to join them in these efforts.
Additionally, Jainam and Jivika will continue to share updates on their community missions through their YouTube channels, JJFuntime and JJMissionDiary. They concluded their message by expressing their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported their journey, saying, "To everyone who has been a part of this journey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Let’s keep moving forward, doing small acts of Seva, and inspiring each other to make the world a better place."See What’s Next in Tech With the Fast Forward Newsletter
