Manupatra has announced the launch of Manupatra AI, a new suite of AI-powered solutions designed to support legal professionals in their everyday work through practical, reliable and lawyer-centric applications of AI.
Manupatra AI brings together twoA core offerings - AI Search, integrated within Manupatra’s flagship legal research platform, and Manuworks, a set of AI tools built specifically for lawyers. Together, they aim to help legal professionals use AI meaningfully across research, drafting, analysis, and workflow support, while remaining grounded in trusted legal content.
The AI Search capability is trained exclusively on Manupatra’s proprietary legal database, meticulously built and curated over more than 25 years. By drawing directly from verified source documents and providing linked citations, AI Search enables lawyers to quickly identify relevant judgments and insights through contextual understanding. Unlike generic AI tools, it avoids issues such as hallucinations or unverifiable outputs, allowing users to confidently rely on AI-assisted research without the need for additional time spent validating references.
Commenting on the launch, Deepak Kapoor, Founder and CEO, Manupatra, said, “The objective behind Manupatra AI has been to make artificial intelligence genuinely useful in everyday legal work. Lawyers need accuracy, traceability, and trust in the tools they use. By building AI Search on our proprietary legal database and developing purpose-built tools like ManuWorks, we are enabling legal professionals to use AI in a way that supports sound legal judgment rather than replacing it.”
Complementing AI Search, Manuworks offers a range of AI tools designed for everyday legal tasks, including drafting, summarization, translation, comparison, timelines, and document analysis. Built specifically for legal workflows, ManuWorks allows lawyers to explore how AI fits into their practice through a pay-as-you-go model, giving them the flexibility to use AI where it adds value, without committing to expensive, generic subscriptions.
Manupatra AI reflects a broader shift in legal technology toward practical adoption, where AI supports precision, efficiency, and professional judgment rather than replacing it. By embedding AI within established legal research and workflow environments, the platform seeks to ensure that technology enhances legal practice while maintaining accuracy, accountability and trust.
The launch also builds on Manupatra’s ongoing work in legal innovation and knowledge-sharing, including insights and discussions on the evolving role of legal technology and AI in the profession.
