American tech giant Microsoft has revealed that its cloud offering aimed at the financial services industry will be available from 1 November 2021, with Virgin Money UK on board as an early user.
Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services affiliates cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Power Platform.
Microsoft will also be launching the offering with a range of industry-focused partners that include Avanade, Accenture, Capgemini, and PwC along with ISVs like Finastra and VeriPark. Partners have both contributed to the IP of the industry cloud through its data model and other custom abilities and by working with pilot customers to locate and build upon it.
Microsoft Corporate Vice President of worldwide financial services Bill Borden wrote in a blog that the offering consolidates cloud services across Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform supported by an industry data model. The new offering is designed with ‘the most complex control frameworks and regulatory requirements facing the industry’, to optimise business processes by allowing interoperable and cross-channel communications.
The company is "[exploring] the new capabilities to help its customers and employees achieve what is important to them," Borden wrote.
