Brief about the company
Coming from a business family, I decided to open a retail multi-brand outlet in Bhubaneswar called Tanisha's E World with a sheer vision of Customer Satisfaction being our top priority. We deal in computer equipment and accessories, serving three Lenovo Exclusive stores, one Asus Exclusive shop, and MBO stores across several Odisha cities. Tanisha's E World has established a solid client base with exceptional service in the Odisha PC industry.
What are the growth opportunities to be seen in the near future?
In Bhubaneswar, we started as a multi-brand retail outlet for IT goods in the year 2004. Realizing that retail is the way forward, we have expanded our retail footprint in Odisha by working with Lenovo and Asus to create three Lenovo Exclusive Stores and one Asus Exclusive Store in various locations. With the sudden advent of Covid 19, everything changed, and the PC industry witnessed some major changes. The new normal made the world go completely digital from students to working professionals. Thus, the demand for IT products saw a significant growth with high retail sales and a much-needed boost after several years. As we progress, our prime motive remains to focus more on retail and expand by opening new exclusive Stores in different cities of Odisha.
How has the business grown, and what has been Lenovo's contribution to the business growth?
While the IT industry saw a great response when everything went digital, the pandemic came with challenges. But we are proud that despite such challenges, our overall business has grown, and our profitability has skyrocketed. Lenovo has enabled us to build our business by expanding from a single Lenovo Exclusive shop to three today. Being an exclusive store, we have never faced any shortage of stocks. We increased our sales by using Lenovo's forwarding number and lead management system. The customer-centric approach to Technology and Services has helped us retain existing customers while growing sales through reference lines. Aggressive digital promotion has also contributed to a high degree of brand recall in the customers' minds.
What is the most preferred brand/product by the customers?
Lenovo is the most popular and preferred brand among customers, followed by Asus. Despite the presence of other manufacturers, Lenovo is favored due to its latest specifications and features and its exceptional after-sales support.
The after-pandemic scenario has changed the customer needs and demands quite significantly, and it is imperative that we cater to those effectively and efficiently.
Gone are the days when individuals had to carry along bulky items. Far quicker SSDs have replaced hard discs, and gaming laptops/desktops with high-end graphics cards have become the rage. The average consumer spends more than INR 55,000. Lenovo delivers a diverse range of products by understanding such changing landscapes and dynamics. High purchases have been observed in high-end headphones, visuals, and various accessories.
How have the challenges been tackled in the post COVID-19 pandemic time?
Since we already mentioned how the landscape of the world drastically changed post-pandemic, there were quite many challenges that we had to encounter. For instance, if there was a paucity of supplies or the delivery of items to customers' doorsteps. One of the key issues that we dealt with was ensuring excellent after-sales support. Our objective was to resolve customer service concerns within 24 hours and provide door-to-door delivery of any item within one hour. Lenovo has implemented the Online Meet Offline (OMO) system to combat the danger of online sales, which ensures that customers make online purchases that are routed through Lenovo Exclusive Stores.
What are the trends to look out for in the technology segment?
Technology today is very fast-paced as it is changing every day with new emerging trends. Thin and light laptops with SSD storage, convertible laptops with backlit keyboards, high-end gaming desktops, and laptops with NVIDIA graphics cards are all possible. Ryzen series CPUs have acquired a larger market share and become more popular with customers than Intel-based processors.
How do emerging product lines & accessory biz focus along with Lenovo?
Our accessories business contributes significantly to our profitability. Additional revenue generators for us include high-end gaming headphones, gaming mice and mouse pads, and full HD webcams. Lenovo's emphasis on Visual Business is also a big step forward. With so many product lines, sales grow significantly.
