Global cybersecurity company Rubrik, Inc. has launched Turbo Threat Hunting, a new solution aimed at helping organizations significantly reduce downtime caused by cyberattacks. The feature, which can scan up to 75,000 backups within just 60 seconds, enables businesses to locate clean, malware-free recovery points almost instantly, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
The move addresses an ongoing concern among businesses struggling to maintain business continuity amid rising cyber threats. According to Rubrik's Zero Labs report, 60% of IT and security leaders are deeply worried about their ability to resume operations following a cyberattack. Traditional methods of identifying safe backups often take days or weeks, leaving businesses vulnerable to prolonged outages and economic losses. Turbo Threat Hunting effectively removes this bottleneck through a high-speed, metadata-based scanning mechanism.
Anneka Gupta, Chief Product Officer at Rubrik, described the development as a game-changer for cyber resilience. “This is the fastest way to recover from a cyberattack. With Turbo Threat Hunting, we’re not just reducing recovery times — we’re redefining what’s possible in cyber resilience. No other platform on the market can match our speed and scale, giving enterprises the confidence to quickly resume operations and protect their bottom line,” Gupta said.
What sets Turbo Threat Hunting apart is its innovative approach. Unlike conventional systems that manually scan files one by one, the tool leverages pre-computed hash values stored in Rubrik’s metadata to identify malware and other threats. This enables organizations to swiftly pinpoint clean recovery points without mounting or individually scanning files, saving both time and resources.
In addition to identifying clean backups, Rubrik’s solution automatically updates metadata to quarantine malicious files and reduces errors when selecting recovery points. Organizations can simultaneously scan individual or multiple data clusters and their entire IT environment, making the solution effective even for complex enterprise infrastructures.
Importantly, the system performs full-scale scans without disrupting production environments, minimizing operational impact while ensuring data remains intact and accessible.
Turbo Threat Hunting is currently available through beta for Rubrik Enterprise Edition and cloud customers, with a general release planned for January 2025. Rubrik’s innovation sets a new benchmark in cyber recovery tools, providing companies with an efficient way to bounce back quickly and securely after cyber incidents. As businesses face increasingly sophisticated threats, solutions like Turbo Threat Hunting signal a pivotal advancement in ensuring operational continuity and bolstering confidence in cybersecurity readiness.
