Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has invested in Indian short-form video app Chingari in a ₹95 crore ($13 million) pre-Series A round led by Bengaluru-based OnMobile. Shares worth ₹13.5 crore have been allotted to Khan, who has also come on-board as Chingari's brand ambassador.

The app currently has more than 56 million users in India.

Chingari allows its users to download and upload videos, chat with friends, interact with new people, share content, browse through feed, and much more. The platform is available in more than 12 vernacular languages along with English and Spanish.
