Samsung Electronics confirmed it is in close discussions with Nvidia to supply its upcoming high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) chips, as the South Korean tech giant intensifies efforts to reclaim ground in the AI semiconductor race.
The talks mark a strategic move for Samsung, which aims to strengthen its partnership with Nvidia, the world’s leading AI chipmaker, amid surging global demand for advanced memory used in AI training and inference systems.
HBM4, the next iteration of high-performance memory, promises significant improvements in speed, capacity, and energy efficiency over current HBM3E technology. Industry analysts say the deal could help Samsung challenge SK Hynix, which currently dominates the HBM market with its supply to Nvidia’s flagship AI processors.
While details of the agreement remain under wraps, Samsung’s engagement with Nvidia underscores its renewed focus on AI-driven growth and commitment to advancing next-generation memory technologies critical to future computing infrastructure.
