Sharp Business Systems India has expanded its multifunction printer portfolio with AI-powered colour and mono MFPs featuring advanced automation, multi-layered security and sustainability capabilities to support evolving workplace requirements across industries.
Sharp Business Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd. has introduced a new range of digital full-colour and monochrome multifunction printers (MFPs) in India, expanding its enterprise printing portfolio with AI-enabled devices designed to enhance productivity, security and sustainability. The new lineup comprises the BP-71, BP-51, BP-71M and BP-51M series, catering to the evolving needs of modern workplaces where digital collaboration and seamless connectivity are becoming increasingly important.
The launch comes as organizations continue to adopt hybrid work environments and seek intelligent document management solutions that combine automation, robust security and operational efficiency.
Expanded portfolio for diverse business needs
The newly launched portfolio includes the Advanced Series comprising the BP-71C65/C45 colour models and BP-71M55/M65 monochrome models, alongside the Essential Series featuring the BP-51C55/C45/C36/C31T/C26T colour models and BP-51M45T/65T monochrome devices.
Designed for sectors including education, engineering and design consulting, healthcare, hospitality, publishing, manufacturing, BFSI and large enterprises, the MFPs offer print and scan speeds ranging from 26 to 65 pages per minute and support media sizes up to SRA3.
According to the company, the new devices are built to simplify office workflows by integrating intelligent automation, intuitive document sharing and enhanced collaboration capabilities while delivering a consistent user experience.

AI-powered automation enhances productivity
Sharp has incorporated AI-driven features into the new MFP series to automate routine document workflows. The intelligent Auto Set Scan function automatically optimizes parameters such as image resolution, orientation and image quality to improve scanning accuracy while reducing manual intervention.
The BP-71C and BP-71M series are equipped with a 300-sheet Duplex Single Pass Feeder capable of scanning up to 300 images per minute, while the BP-51C and BP-51M series feature a 100-sheet Reversing Single Pass Feeder with scanning speeds of up to 80 images per minute.
Additional productivity features include Microsoft Entra ID integration for secure authentication and My Folder Print functionality for personalized document access.
Focus on security and data protection
With cyber threats continuing to evolve, Sharp has equipped the latest MFP range with multiple security layers designed to safeguard enterprise data and connected devices.
The printers feature BIOS and firmware integrity checks to detect system anomalies and initiate recovery procedures when required. Optional integration with the Bitdefender scan engine provides an additional layer of malware protection by identifying potential threats before they spread across enterprise networks.
Other security capabilities include token-based authentication through Microsoft Entra ID, data encryption, secure data erase, whitelisting, image job logs and automatic firmware updates, helping organizations strengthen document security throughout the device lifecycle.
Sustainability built into the design
Sustainability is another key focus of the new product range. The MFPs are manufactured using up to 50% recycled plastic and are packaged using recyclable cardboard instead of polystyrene to reduce plastic waste.
The devices consume only 0.3 watts in standby mode and comply with ENERGY STAR® standards through low Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) values. The BP-71C and BP-71M models also feature a motion sensor that automatically activates the device when a user approaches, reducing energy consumption while ensuring immediate availability.
Executives highlight human-centric innovation
“A device can be smart, but if that intelligence doesn’t make life easier for the people using it, it means nothing,” said Osamu Narita, Managing Director – SHARP Business Systems (India) Pvt Ltd. “With the launch of our new Colour and Mono Multifunctional Printer series in India, every feature — from AI-driven automation to multi-layered security and sustainable design — is built to deliver real value for the people using it.
