Telegram, popular messaging platform has rolled out a new update introducing passkeys for instant and secure logins, protected gift purchase offers, and a simpler way to add audio to Stories. The latest additions strengthen account security, improve trust in digital collectibles, and make storytelling on Telegram more seamless and expressive.
Passkeys
Telegram now supports passkeys, enabling users to log in instantly using a device PIN or biometric authentication such as Face ID or fingerprints- eliminating the need for SMS verification codes.
Passkeys work reliably even while traveling or during SMS service disruptions. Each passkey is protected by unique encrypted keys stored securely on the user’s device and can be synced with password managers such as iCloud Keychain and Google Password Manager, making it both the fastest and most secure login method available on Telegram.
Users can create a passkey via Settings > Privacy and Security > Passkeys on any device. Telegram continues to recommend keeping an active phone number linked to the account, even when passkeys are enabled.
Gift Purchase Offers
Telegram has introduced secure gift purchase offers, allowing users to make direct offers to buy gifts displayed on another user’s profile using Stars or TON.
Each offer includes a custom price and time limit, with payments safely reserved during the offer period. If an offer expires or is declined, the full amount is instantly refunded. Telegram’s built-in protection ensures that both buyers and sellers can complete transactions safely, reducing the risk of scams.
Gift owners can also see how closely an offer matches the gift’s estimated value before confirming the sale. Once accepted, the gift is automatically transferred to the buyer.
Audio in Stories
Posting Stories on Telegram is now even more intuitive. Users can quickly add audio from their profile playlist directly to Stories by selecting the Audio option via the Sticker menu. This makes it easier to share music and create richer, more engaging Stories without leaving the app.
With this update, Telegram continues to enhance security, trust, and creative expression- offering users safer logins, transparent digital transactions, and smoother storytelling tools.
