Tonbo Imaging presents Snapdragon supported Thermal Surveillance Cameras
At India Mobile Congress, Qualcomm Technologies and Tonbo Imaging have announced availability of Tonbo Knight, a compact, low-power, Wi-Fi and LTE-enabled QVGA/VGA thermal camera based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor.
As per the company, the camera is targeted for perimeter surveillance, law enforcement and solar panel inspection. Users can control and view the Tonbo Knight’s H.264 encoded video in the cloud from a smartphone or PC via Wi-Fi or an external LTE module. The camera supports ONVIF Profile S Version 16.12 compliant for plug-and-play integration with existing security infrastructure. The key features and benefits of the Tonbo Knight camera include:
· All day/night and all weather (rain, sunlight, fog) monitoring using 30/60fps QVGA/VGA sensor and customizable diamond-coated lens
· Easily scalable, anytime, anywhere surveillance with Wi-Fi or LTE (optional) connectivity
· Less false alarms and lower network bandwidth costs by supporting thermal analytics on the edge (on the processor) as well as in the cloud
· Rugged industrial design with flexible mounts for simple outdoor applications
Speaking on this, Larry Paulson, Vice-President and President, Qualcomm India, said, “With advanced connectivity, and computing technologies incorporated into the camera right at the point of capture, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor makes more intelligence available at the edge.”
He further added, “Using our expertise in imaging, video, connectivity and compute, coupled with Tonbo Imaging’s sophisticated thermal imaging camera Tonbo Knight, we look forward to delivering the technologies needed for a smart camera solution to the surveillance industry.”
“We are pleased to work with Qualcomm Technologies to deliver the compute power within our Knight cameras,” said Sudeep George, Vice-President of Engineering, Tonbo Imaging. “We are very excited to introduce the newest generation of Tonbo Knight cameras to the surveillance industry, including a rich suite of features developed by Qualcomm Technologies,” he further added.
The camera will be demonstrated at India Mobile Congress, at the Qualcomm Technologies booth #131, 27th – 29th September, 2017, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.
