Tripura is accelerating its ambition to become an emerging startup and innovation hub in Northeast India with the launch of the T-RISE (Tripura Registry & Integration for Startup Ecosystem) Portal. The initiative was unveiled during the “Building a Unicorn in Tripura” workshop organized by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with T-Hub.
The initiative supports the broader vision of Viksit Bharat and Startup India, encouraging young entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses. Under Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, the State has introduced a new Sector-Agnostic Tripura Startup Policy and established T-NEST, a State-level incubation centre providing mentorship, technology support and market linkages.
Tripura's startup ecosystem is already gaining momentum. The State has received 185+ startup applications, approved 140 registrations and recognized 70 startups. More than ₹2.72 crore in financial assistance has been provided through the Tri-Seed Fund, Proof of Concept support and operational assistance.

T-RISE will serve as a single-window digital ecosystem, connecting entrepreneurs with incubators, mentors, investors, corporates, academic institutions and government departments. The platform initially provides access to 20+ mentors, 10+ investors and 10+ corporates, while also seeking to engage professionals of Tripura origin around the world.
The State further strengthened the ecosystem through strategic MoUs with HDFC Bank, Amazon.in and Zoho, aimed at providing startups with financial services, e-commerce opportunities, digital technologies, mentorship and capacity-building support.
T-Hub also conducted mentoring sessions covering innovation, fundraising, business scaling and market expansion. Startup founders and industry executives, including Tejaswi Bhagavatula of Skyroot Aerospace, shared experiences intended to encourage entrepreneurs to build globally competitive companies from the Northeast.
With policy support, funding, incubation, industry partnerships and T-RISE providing a common digital platform, Tripura is attempting to move beyond promoting entrepreneurship toward building an integrated startup ecosystem. The real measure of success will be how effectively these initiatives translate promising local ideas into sustainable businesses, investment, high-value employment and companies capable of competing nationally and globally.
