Twitter in an email to some users admitted that a "security incident" last month might have exposed Twitter Circle tweets to public, which otherwise are meant to be only seen by individuals selected by a user. The platform said the flaw has now been fixed. In April, the Circle tweets were appearing on the 'For You' timeline.
"In April 2023, a security incident may have allowed users outside of your Twitter Circle to see tweets that should have otherwise been limited to the Circle to which you were posting. This issue was identified by our security team and immediately fixed so that these tweets were no longer visible outside of your Circle," Twitter email reads.
The platform claims the new glitch was caused by "a security incident that occurred earlier this year." As of now, it is not clear how many users were affected by the "security incident.” Users don't need to do anything to patch the issue.
