The new modular 4x100GE platform enables hyperscale validation of AI-driven, encrypted and high-volume network traffic, helping enterprises, service providers and data center operators improve testing efficiency while reducing infrastructure complexity and lab resource requirements.
Keysight Technologies has unveiled the APS-ONE-400, a modular 4x100GE network cybersecurity test platform designed to help network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), service providers and data center operators validate increasingly complex network environments. The compact 1-rack-unit (1RU) platform is engineered to deliver high-performance Layer 4-7 traffic generation, encrypted traffic validation and Elephant Flow traffic testing while reducing infrastructure requirements.
The launch comes as enterprises grapple with rapidly growing AI and machine learning workloads that are driving unprecedented increases in network traffic, encryption demands and cybersecurity challenges.
Addressing the challenges of AI-driven networks
Modern enterprise and service provider networks are being tested by rising volumes of legitimate and malicious traffic, post-quantum cryptography (PQC)-encrypted communications, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architectures and the massive Elephant Flow transmissions associated with artificial intelligence (AI) and large language model (LLM) workloads.
Traditionally, validating these diverse traffic scenarios has required multiple specialised testing solutions, increasing both operational costs and laboratory resource consumption. Keysight aims to simplify this process by consolidating multiple testing capabilities into a single scalable platform.
High-performance testing in a compact design
The APS-ONE-400 expands Keysight's APS-100/400GE hardware family with a modular architecture capable of generating hyperscale Layer 4-7 application traffic, PQC-encrypted Transport Layer Security (TLS) throughput, advanced cybersecurity attack simulations and ZTNA testing from a compact 1RU appliance.
The platform delivers up to 400 Gbps of Layer 4-7 throughput, 380 Gbps of hardware-accelerated encrypted TLS throughput and 95 Gbps of Elephant Flow traffic generation while reducing rack space, cooling requirements and power consumption.
It also supports deployment as a standalone appliance or integration with existing Keysight APS-100/400GE platforms, including the APS-M8400, APS-M1010 and APS-ONE-100. Fanout support for 100GE, 25GE and 10GE interfaces enables compatibility across multiple network environments.
Built for hyperscale AI workloads
When combined with the APS-M8400 appliance or APS-M1010 management controller, the APS-ONE-400 can scale to hyperscale test environments capable of generating up to 16 Tbps of Layer 4-7 traffic, 20 billion concurrent connections, 15 Tbps of encrypted TLS traffic and 25 million TLS connections per second.
Designed as a modular "pay-as-you-grow" platform, the solution allows customers to expand testing capacity as network demands evolve without replacing existing infrastructure.
Executive perspective
Ram Periakaruppan, Vice President and General Manager, Keysight's Network Test and Security Solutions, said: “The exponential growth of data transfers and bandwidth demands generated by AI and machine learning workloads is putting unprecedented strain on data center, service provider, and enterprise network infrastructures. Continuously validating that networks can handle these challenges without compromising security requires realistic, hyperscale, traffic emulation capabilities. Keysight's modular APS-ONE-400 compute node delivers new heights in realism, emulating the traffic flows associated with generative AI models and agentic applications at hyperscale, including the huge Elephant Flow datasets common to LLM training use cases and PQC-encrypted traffic flows, all in a compact form factor that conserves critical lab resources.”
Meeting next-generation network validation needs
With AI applications driving exponential growth in encrypted traffic, large-scale data transfers and increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity requirements, the APS-ONE-400 is positioned to help enterprises, telecom operators and network equipment vendors validate infrastructure performance before deployment. By consolidating multiple testing capabilities into a modular platform, Keysight aims to improve laboratory efficiency while supporting the evolving demands of AI-driven networking and cybersecurity validation.
