According to a news agency, sources in the defence establishment said that to boost the frontline troops communication services the Indian Army is considering using 5G services.
As per sources, the Army was the lead service when a joint services study was recently conducted on implementation of 5G in armed forces.
The recommendations of the study are being reviewed by the three armed services - Army, Navy, Air Force. The sources also added that for frontline troops,
The Indian Army will exploit 5G to support operations in tactical battlefield areas, they said.
The sources also added that for frontline troops the high bandwidth and low latency of 5G are better suited for critical communication services.
