Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom giants, has officially entered the enterprise cloud services market with the launch of ‘Airtel Cloud’, a next-generation telco-grade cloud platform designed to meet the growing demand for secure, scalable, and AI-powered cloud solutions in India. This move comes amid the Centre’s ambitious push to position India as a global hub for data centres, aligning with the nation’s expanding digital infrastructure goals.
Developed by Airtel’s digital subsidiary Xtelify, Airtel Cloud offers Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and advanced connectivity for enterprises. Initially built for Airtel’s internal operations, the platform is now open to businesses seeking data localisation, enterprise-grade security, and cloud-based AI resource management. It can handle an impressive 140 crore transactions per minute, with data hosted in sustainable, AI-driven data centres managed by 300 certified cloud experts.
Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and MD of Bharti Airtel, emphasised that all data on Airtel Cloud will remain within India, ensuring complete compliance with local regulations and eliminating any risk of external access. “Our cloud powers over 590 million customer touchpoints, and now we’re bringing this capability to Indian businesses,” Vittal said.

The announcement comes as India’s cloud computing market continues to expand. According to IDC, the sector is projected to grow from $8.3 billion in 2023 to $24.2 billion by 2028, driven by demand for enterprise cloud services, AI-driven applications, and data localisation solutions.
In addition to Airtel Cloud, the company introduced an AI-powered software suite under the Xtelify brand to help telcos globally improve customer experience, reduce churn, and increase ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). This suite includes Xtelify Data Engine for AI-generated insights, Xtelify Work for task automation, Xtelify Serve for managing customer experience, and Xtelify IQ for real-time omnichannel engagement.
Airtel has already partnered with Singtel (Singapore), Globe Telecom (Philippines), and a telecom provider in Africa to deploy these solutions, marking a strong start for its AI and cloud technology expansion in international markets.
