Speaking about Canon’s plans, Toshiaki Nomura, President and CEO of Canon India, highlighted the growing interest of global chip manufacturers in India as a destination for semiconductor manufacturing. “Many chip manufacturers are exploring India for their next manufacturing base. We are in active discussions to offer our technology and services to support their operations,” he said.
The company is currently in discussions with manufacturers setting up semiconductor fabrication units in India to supply its advanced lithography equipment, crucial for chip production. Canon’s exploration of India’s semiconductor sector signifies a strategic alignment with global trends and regional opportunities.
