Stolen UK payment cards and various forms of identification are being sold on the dark web for as little as 9 pounds, according to new findings from cybersecurity firm NordVPN.
The data reveals that a range of compromised digital assets, including hacked social media accounts and Netflix subscriptions, are readily available for purchase.
In collaboration with threat exposure management platform NordStellar, NordVPN analyzed over 28,000 unique dark web listings from January 2025 to February 2026.
Their research categorized these listings into 16 categories, highlighting the extensive market for stolen credentials.
The analysis showed that a stolen payment card typically sells for around 9 pound, while a complete digital identity pack can fetch about 30 pounds.
Additionally, digital copies of passports and driving licenses are commonly listed for approximately 26 pounds each.
To help individuals understand the value of their personal information, NordVPN has introduced an interactive calculator.
This tool allows users to estimate how much their accounts and documents might be worth to cybercriminals.
Marijus Briedis, CTO of NordVPN, emphasizes the importance of awareness regarding data exposure.
He notes that understanding the worth of personal information can significantly enhance individuals' ability to protect themselves from online threats.
