The deadline for upgrading Aadhaar details for free has been extended by the Centre to June 14, 2024. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) extended the free online document upload service till June 14th, although the original deadline was March 14th. According to UIDAI, the service is only accessible through the myaadhaar portal through June 14th.
UIDAI had earlier said, “Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024. Accordingly, the facility for document update shall continue to be free of cost through myAadhaar portal."
People can update their personal details like name, address etc. for free on UIDAI's website. It can also be done physically at Common Services Centres (CSC) but it will cost Rs 50.
