ADVA ensures time synchronization with FSP 150
ADVA Optical Networking has announced that its FSP 150 is capable of delivering sub-microsecond timing accuracy for time-critical trading applications and enables precise trading decisions availability.
Christoph Glingener, CTO, ADVA Optical Networking, said, "Today's financial community is continually pushing the boundaries of what networks are capable of, continually striving for that extra competitive edge. In this environment, microseconds are the difference between success and failure. That is why what we are doing is so important. We are moving synchronization from thousandths of a second to millionths of a second. What is more, this is from anywhere in the network. This shift in performance could become a real game changer."
The ADVA FSP 150 features simultaneous support of Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) technology and has a built-in GPS receiver. This combination ensures time synchronization and assurance across multi-vendor infrastructures, enabling complete transparency and in-depth reporting on timing accuracy and network latencies.
It also supports the trend in algorithmic trading toward microsecond timing and synchronization accuracies between clocks that may be distributed within and among data centers.
