Zomato announced that co-founder Akriti Chopra is leaving the company to pursue other interests, effective from Friday, as detailed in its BSE filing. Following this news, Zomato Ltd's shares closed 1.97% lower at ₹278.25, down from ₹283.85 at the previous market close.
Chopra has been with Zomato for 13 years, significantly contributing to the establishment and scaling of the company's legal and finance teams during her tenure. Before her role as Chief People Officer (CPO), she served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), playing a crucial role in the company’s growth and development in the competitive food delivery market.
