A question comes on weather a battery inside the cell phone could be vulnerable? Now Apple is reportedly planning to lock the batteries on its newest iPhones by activating a dormant software that only allows genuine Apple batteries to be used for replacement done by authorised service providers. However, it still shows up when you put in a brand new Apple battery.
A question is on, if you replace the battery in the newest iPhones by yourself, a message appears indicating you need to service your battery in the Settings menu. The message is an indicator of poor battery. However, it still shows up when you put in a brand new Apple battery. It is only when an Apple authorised service provider authenticates a battery to the phone, the message disappears.
There is s fear with the battery manufacturers, the compatible battery may not work in the iphone. Industry have a question on, as a fact all the original accessories of IPhone is very expensive. In case someone buys a preowned I phone, on that case changing the battery with original one, would be a costly affairs.
Apple has recently activated a software feature to discourage people from installing both third-party batteries and original batteries on their own. Unless you pay for an official repair service, iOS will lock down your battery, refusing to show battery health information and marking it as needing “Service”. Experts says, iPhone sales will decrease with this efforts done by Apple. We will call this as innovation or technology disruption?
Apple’s batteries come with a battery controller made by Texas Instruments. Inside there’s secure memory that stores a secure key that iOS can read, as well as other information like the number of cycles or the battery operating temperature. According to documents unearthed by The Art of Repair, this secure information can’t be read unless you use special software provided by Texas Instrument.
However, it still shows up when you put in a brand new Apple battery. It is only when an Apple authorised service provider authenticates a battery to the phone, the message disappears.
