HCL Infosystems makes new appointments in its Board of Directors
HCL Infosystems has appointed Dr Nikhil Sinha as the Non-Executive Chairman of its Board. Three Non-Executive Directors – S. Premkumar, D. K. Srivastava and Pawan Kumar Danwar – also joined the Board of HCL Infosystems Ltd. Three existing Directors – J. V. Ramamurthy, D. S. Puri and E. A. Kshirsagar – have stepped down from the Board. Both D. S. Puri and E. A. Kshirsagar joined the HCLI Board in 1998. J. V. Ramamurthy continues to be associated with the Company as a Director on the board of HCL Infotech Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCL Infosystems Ltd.
Commenting on the appointments, Harsh Chitale, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, HCL Infosystems Ltd., said, “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to D. S. Puri and Kshirsagar for providing their invaluable guidance to the company for many years, thereby contributing to its growth journey through different economic environments. Their contribution can be gauged from the fact that when they joined the Board in 1998, revenue of the Company stood at Rs.700 crore and today we have revenue in excess of Rs.8,400 crore.”
Dr Nikhil Sinha who has been a Non-Executive Director on the HCL Infosystems Board since July 2009 has been appointed as the Non Executive Chairman of the Board. Dr Sinha is the founding Vice-Chancellor of the Shiv Nadar University and a Senior Advisor to the Shiv Nadar Foundation and HCL Corporation. Dr Sinha is a leading international expert on information and communication technology industries and has extensive experience as an academician, corporate executive and consultant.
S. Premkumar is presently the Group CEO of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., where he works closely with the Board and is actively involved with the transformation agenda across Strategic Go-to-Market initiatives, Customer Experience, Strategic Partnerships and Globalization. As the Senior Corporate Officer and President for HCL Technologies, he was leading Financial Services and Healthcare verticals along with strategic leadership of customer proposition innovation, alliances and partnerships as well as global expansion.
D. K. Srivastava is responsible for the Human Resources function of HCL Corporation and Shiv Nadar Foundation and is driving strategies around talent, culture and organizational effectiveness. He has been associated with HCL for 18 years out of a career spanning over 32 years. Nestle, Tata and L&T are some of the other major organizations that he has worked with.
Pawan K. Danwar is the Executive Vice-President & CFO of HCL Corporation and Shiv Nadar Foundation. He brings over 24 years of vast experience to HCL. His association with the HCL Group spans over 18 years and he has served in different operational and strategic finance profiles within HCL such as Business Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Acquisition & Business Integration, Treasury, Planning & Strategy, Commercial, Business Development, Secretarial, Legal & Corporate Compliance and Investor Relationship.
In the past few months, HCL Corporation has increased its shareholding in HCL Infosystems from 42.85% to 49.97%.
