India is on the brink of implementing stricter data protection regulations. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), once notified, will significantly impact how businesses handle personal data. Upcoming Data Protection Rules poised to transform privacy landscape in India.
The long-awaited administrative rules providing specifics of the legislation governing personal data and its protection are likely to be notified soon, a top lawmaker, as per ET. This could happen “well before” the Maharashtra assembly elections which will be held on November 20, the person added.
Key Provisions of the DPDP Act:
● Data Protection Board: A dedicated Data Protection Board will be established to oversee implementation and enforcement of the Act.
