With the aim to bring ease of doing business on WhatsApp, its parent company Meta announced the rollout of ‘Meta Verified’ in India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Colombia.
The announcement was made by founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg at Conversations, its annual business messaging event in Sao Paulo, along with other news.
When a user sees a Meta Verified badge, this means a business has registered their information with Meta. Businesses using Meta Verified will receive enhanced account support and can use WhatsApp across multiple devices for their employees.
Meta Verified's rollout in India, along with other AI tools for businesses on WhatsApp, signals a significant development in leveraging messaging platforms for business communication and customer engagement. Meta Verified, likely a feature or service offered by Meta (formerly Facebook), could provide businesses with a verified identity on WhatsApp, enhancing trust and credibility with customers.
Businesses can register for Meta Verified to undergo a verification process that confirms their identity and legitimacy. Once verified, businesses receive a special badge displayed on their WhatsApp profile. This badge assures customers they are interacting with a trusted entity, fostering confidence and encouraging interaction.
Additionally, the introduction of AI tools for businesses on WhatsApp suggests a growing emphasis on leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline customer interactions and improve operational efficiency. These AI tools could include chatbots for automated customer support, natural language processing for analyzing customer inquiries, and personalized recommendations based on user interactions.
