TCS takes lead in deployment of all the equipment needed to BSNL in order to complete its 4G enrollment plan.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has chosen Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tejas Networks to establish a 4G network for. Reinforcing their strong position in India’s telecom infrastructure, TCS has delivered equipment to around 58,000 to 59,000 sites, with most of these sites already active. Out of these, work on 49,000 sites has been completed.
BSNL is now working aggressively on rolling out its 5G network, as announced by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. BSNL is making constant efforts to strengthen its network, and its 4G rollout with TCS and Tejas Networks is a key step in this direction. Tejas Networks, a part of Tata, is also focusing on private 5G networks and BSNL’s commercial 4G network.
TATA is rapidly expanding its network infrastructure. After the success of 2G and 3G, the company has swiftly delivered equipment for the 4G network. In October alone, TATA delivered equipment to 10,000 to 12,000 new sites, and another 10,000 are expected to be ready soon.
Moreover, TATA is optimizing 1,000 sites every day. Tata has been working on BSNL’s network for a long time and is also in the process of establishing a new data center to support its growing infrastructure.
