Twitter goes down for 10 mins across globe
Twitter has resumed service but was out of service for quite some time. The site was reportedly was not working for five to 10 minutes. Users panicked when suddenly the site stopped working. The message on the screen read: “Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing-we’re going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.”
The site said there was some technical problem. As reported, Twitter stopped working in the United States, parts of Europe including the United Kingdom and Japan. More details are awaited.
Twitter has millions of followers including the big personalities across the world. However, this is not the first time when Twitter went down. There are many instances in the past too when Twitter went down for users in India, China, Japan, the United States and other parts of the world.
Twitter an online news and social networking service where users post and interact with messages known as “tweets”. Tweets were originally restricted to 140 characters, but on November 7, 2017, this limit was doubled for all languages except Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Twitter, created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams was launched in July of that year. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity. In 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day.
