Vodafone Idea enhances network capacity on 900 Mhz to cater to growing data demand in Delhi NCR
2020-04-17
Close on the heels of the recent announcement of deployment of over 2000 ma-MIMO in Delhi NCR, Vodafone Idea has further enhanced network capacity in the circle by deploying the most efficient 900 MHz spectrum band on 2300 4G sites.
These recent network augmentation efforts are being undertaken to support the growing data demand during the national lockdown due to Covid pandemic. With this, Vodafone Idea is well equipped to handle the increase in demand from customers who are confined within their homes, heavily dependent on network connectivity to work, study, access essential services online, stay informed and entertained.
Deployment of 900 MHz on 2300 sites will help facilitate better indoor network experience, besides enhancing data speeds for Vodafone Idea customers in Delhi NCR. Earlier, the operator had announced the deployment of over 2000 ma-MIMO installations in Delhi & NCR which is by far the highest by any operator in the region. Vodafone Idea has also deployed 2100+ small cells in Delhi NCR for improving experience in congested areas within the city such as Govindpuri, Gandhi Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar etc.
The network upgradation resulting in better customer experience has been validated by leading agencies such as Ookla and OpenSignal.
This indicates VIL delivering better speeds for customers in Delhi, even during the lockdown period, as compared to any other operator.
