WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to reply to messages in a thread format, which will make chats experience more organized and easier to follow. Replies will reportedly be arranged under the original message in a group chat, creating a clear and structured conversation flow. The feature is designed to help users track conversations easily instead of scrolling through an entire chat history to find all responses to a particular message.
This format is particularly useful when multiple participants are responding to the same message. Instead of scattering replies across the chat, the thread will keep all relevant responses in one place, making interactions more structured.
When someone replies to a message in a group or individual chat, the original message bubble will display a small thread icon along with a count of how many replies have been made. By tapping on this icon, users can open a dedicated thread view showing all responses linked to that particular message.
This view helps eliminate the need to scroll back and forth through long chat threads to trace the original message or understand what someone is replying to. All messages in the thread appear in a sequential layout, allowing users to read through the entire conversation on a specific topic in one place.
