Whitireia expands its footprint to South Indian Market

Whitireia New Zealand has announced the opening of its Bangalore office in India today. With campuses already in Auckland and Wellington, and an office in New Delhi since 2012, Whitireia aims to leverage its new Bangalore office to provide support to its growing network of partner universities in the market. The expansion plan in India reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to building relationships with India, especially in the southern region.

 While many Indian students travel to New Zealand to gain higher qualifications, many more Indian students are also taking advantage of the growth in academic cooperation between Whitireia New Zealand and Indian institutions. The institution is rapidly evolving from recruiting students for study in New Zealand to working closely with Indian universities and technical institutions to support the development of educational partnerships with India.

Having full-time professional staff based in India has enabled Whitireia to provide the level of support needed to meet market needs and the result of this approach has been quite remarkable with India becoming the fastest-growing source of international students studying at the institution.

Through its Career Link service, Whitireia has also provided many of these students with the opportunity to gain work experience in New Zealand upon graduation. Their qualifications and experience have opened up many job opportunities for them when they return home to India or move to working in an international environment.
