Canva is leveraging India’s market growth with AI tools, localized features, and stronger education partnerships, aligning with its 2025 strategy to meet diverse user needs and support India’s digital evolution
Global online design platform Canva is significantly ramping up its India expansion, cementing its position as a key player in the country's fast-growing tech market. With 666 million designs created in the country in 2024 alone, the company is capitalizing on its India market growth as it introduces AI-driven tools, localised features, and deepens partnerships within India’s education sector. These efforts align with Canva's India strategy for 2025, designed to address the diverse needs of Indian users and contribute to the country’s evolving digital landscape.
Customizing features for Indian market
India has emerged as one of Canva’s largest markets, with the country ranking among the top three global markets for Canva Video and Canva Websites. Popular document types in India include presentations, printables, and social media templates, with over 139 million presentations created in 2024. Canva's growth in India reflects the increasing demand for accessible and intuitive design tools in the country.

As part of Canva India 2025 strategy, the platform is rolling out several localised features tailored to Indian users. This includes WhatsApp templates to enhance communication and culturally relevant designs for events such as festivals, weddings, and social causes. Additionally, Canva will offer a localised homepage in regional languages, making the platform even more user-friendly. With templates highlighting seasonal events like Republic Day, Lohri, and wedding season, Canva is providing users with easy access to designs relevant to the country’s rich cultural calendar.
AI tools shaping India’s workforce
Canva’s AI-powered tools are playing an increasingly significant role in transforming India’s digital workspace. According to Canva’s 2024 CIO Survey, 93% of Indian CIOs plan to increase investments in AI, and 89% of businesses are already utilising AI-powered tools for visual content creation. The rise of AI-driven digital portfolios, especially for job seekers, further boosts the need for platforms like Canva to help individuals and businesses create impactful visual presentations.
To support Canva tools for India, the company is also enhancing its Canva for Education initiative. This program provides free design access to K-12 students and teachers, helping to foster creativity and boost learning outcomes. In 2025, Canva plans to expand its collaborations with state education departments to integrate its design tools into classrooms across the country.
Hindi features and flexible pricing for users
In response to India’s diverse language landscape, Canva is set to launch its Hindi-language website in the coming months. This move aligns with Canva’s vision to empower Hindi-speaking users, educators, and businesses by providing seamless access to design tools in their native language.
Additionally, Canva is offering flexible pricing plans to cater to the diverse needs of Indian users. With options like the one-day plan for ₹69 and the seven-day plan for ₹149, Canva is making its platform accessible to users from various demographics.
