Set to power laptops from major brands like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, Snapdragon X devices are expected to hit the market in early 2025
Qualcomm has unveiled its latest innovation, the Snapdragon X Platform, which is set to revolutionize the world of affordable PCs with powerful AI capabilities and enhanced performance. Designed for devices in the $600 price range, the platform promises not only multi-day battery life but also a suite of AI-driven features, making advanced computing more accessible to a broader audience. The new Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X are expected to empower students, freelancers, and budget-conscious users to enjoy high-performance computing without breaking the bank.
At the heart of the Snapdragon X Platform lies the 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, paired with a cutting-edge 45 TOPS NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for seamless AI processing. Qualcomm claims the platform delivers up to 163% faster performance compared to competing processors, all while maintaining impressive energy efficiency. Additionally, the platform includes a highly efficient GPU capable of handling everything from web browsing to light content creation, delivering smooth performance for everyday tasks.
One of the most exciting additions is the introduction of mini desktop PCs powered by the Snapdragon X Platform—an industry-first. These compact yet powerful devices cater to a wide range of users, from consumers and developers to businesses, offering flexibility and portability without sacrificing power. The mini desktop PCs will join the growing lineup of Copilot+ PCs, giving users even more options for how they experience computing.
The Snapdragon X Platform also takes AI integration to the next level with over 50 new features on Windows 11. These include native apps for everything from security and cloud storage to VPNs and music production. Qualcomm has also seen an uptick in app development specifically tailored to the platform, including the exclusive Moises Live app, which leverages Snapdragon’s AI capabilities for music creation.
Set to power laptops from major brands like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, Snapdragon X devices are expected to hit the market in early 2025. With a strong focus on AI and energy efficiency, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Platform promises to make high-performance computing more accessible and affordable for a new generation of users.
